It Happened on 5th Avenue and in Bethlehem

The tract builds a bridge from the classic Christmas movie “It Happened on 5th Avenue” to the gospel.   In the movie, Michael O’Connor played by Charles Ruggles, is the world’s second richest man.   His daughter asks him to disguise himself as a derelict and come live in his own mansion, which he had vacated for the winter, and be a servant to the homeless veteran families living there, including Jim whom she has fallen in love with.

Using various New Testament verses and a line from the hymn “Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne,” this tract explains how Jesus willingly humbled himself to come to the earth as a servant in order to provide the way to salvation for mankind.   The tract concludes with an evangelistic appeal.
